When I, Chef Bel came to Sydney from South Africa, I was desperate to cook for crowds again as I loved the family and friends entertaining I had there... so I invited Aussies from the kids’ school and made crab curry and chicken curry. They loved it! I realised that aussies love Curry but don’t know what spices go in it. So I made up easy mixes for them to take home and replicate the flavour. Initially I did it only for friends. But then it got popular, and friends of friends wanted the mixes. Before Belicious Masala was commercially available, it was already in around 50 families' homes.
